This tour takes you through Mtskheta, the ancient capital, the breathtaking Jvari Monastery, and the mysterious Uplistsikhe cave city—each place telling a story of centuries past. Our first stop is Jvari Monastery, perched high on a hilltop, offering panoramic views over the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers. This UNESCO-listed site marks the place where the first cross was placed in Georgia in the 4th century by the King Mirian and Saint Nino herself. Built in the 6th century, the monastery remains a timeless symbol of the country’s deep Christian heritage, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. Next, we explore Mtskheta, Georgia’s spiritual heart and one of its oldest cities. Wander its charming streets and visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, a masterpiece of medieval architecture and the legendary burial site of Christ’s robe. As you listen to the echoes of ancient chants, you'll feel the deep spiritual presence of this sacred place. Finally, we head towards Uplistsikhe, an ancient rock-hewn city that once thrived as a major trade and religious center. Walk through its cave tunnels, ancient theaters, and hidden chambers, imagining life here over 3,000 years ago. Hear stories of Silk Road merchants, pagan rituals, and the city’s dramatic rise and fall.
